2 FOs

Well, let's see...really, this post is mostly about ripping.

I'm in the middle of the foot of a pair of socks and I realized I have to frog because the twist in the yarn changed and it looks hideous.

I finally picked up my Mystery Stole 3 and realized, after figuring out where I was and putting in another lifeline, that I need to frog back to my last lifeline. So instead of being at the beginning of clue 4 I will be back at the beginning of clue 3.

While looking for my camera I unearthed, again, the sweater I have to take apart so that I can finish putting it back together.

But my dear sweetheart spotted my camera and I have photos. I put them up on Flikr to show him how nifty Ravelry is. After showing him how easy it is to add a photo to a project, I discovered that at the moment there's a bug that's making it impossible to use stash yarns on a project. Even so, he did wander off a bit overwhelmed by the amount of programming that's gone on over there.

If his point of view seems odd, I might add that we'll be at YAPC this year.

But I do have two finished objects to show you. Let's see if I can figure out how to do the Flickr photo thing here.

I'm alive, but not knitting much

I thought maybe I ought to admit that I'm alive, just in case anybody actually reads my blog. I haven't been well lately, and I haven't felt much like knitting recently.

I am, in fact, almost done with a pair of patternless fingerless gloves made out of Schaefer Anne. In the past two weeks I have almost managed to pick up all the stitches for the thumb. I have also started and re-started a scarf several times now. But I haven't really touched that in about two weeks.

I have, however, been reading like a fiend. I have re-read both 1984 and American Gods. American Gods is available to read for free on-line. Of course I had to see how the on-line book thing works, so I started it and had to go get my paperback copy to finish it. It may be possible to convince me to read a book on-line in bed. Maybe. I am not reading a book on-line in the bathroom. No.

I am not feeling well. Although my doctor wanted me to come back and see him in three weeks after giving me some free pills (whoopee - he really expected that to excite me to no end) but when I called and asked if I should be concerned about a fever he decided that the free pills might not be the perfect thing for me after all and referred me to a specialist. If I'm comfortable by next week-end, I'll knit on Thursday.

There you have it. Free pills = fear that my doctor is a drug-company pusher. Free book = sucker. You know what? I think that's how it ought to be.

Make me an offer?

I've got a couple skeins of yarn that I really don't like that much. It's a color thing.

I really want to try out a skein of Schaefer Anne. I've got one. Look.

I just don't like those colors. Is there anyone out there who'd be interested in trading with me?

Here's my taste - I went to the Simply Socks website and made a list of the colors there that I like. Billie Holliday, Dian Fossey, Charcoal, Georgia Okeefe, Lilac, Jewels, Scotch Thistle and The Blues. Mine isn't on their page, so if you've got a skein and can't find a picture, post one for me somewhere and send me a link.

There's a giveaway with this. If you want it, I'll throw in one of these other skeins...

The top one is a sort of off-beige with complimentary colors, and the bottom one is absolutely salmon with complimentary colors. Natalie over at the Yarn Yard does beautiful work. These two colors that I got from the sock club are just not to my taste.

If you don't want to leave a comment on my blog, send me an email. It's a yahoo.com email address and the username is carolstone. Make the subject "Schafer Anne" or I'll delete it as spam, since that's *all* I ever get at that address!

I'll give this a week (until Thursday, August 23rd) before I do anything else with this yarn (like take it to SnB and whine....).

*updated August 23rd. Thank you, I've got someone to trade with!
